My name is Amy Wooten. I am raising funds for my son Kyle. At nine months old, Kyle was diagnosed with Merosin - deficient congenital muscular dystrophy. He just turned nine in May. He is growing up fast and it is getting harder for us as his parents to lift him up. Our home needs to be made handicap accessible. We need to add a handicap bathroom to our home. The current bathroom is just too small to make into a handicap bathroom without taking away a bedroom. We need all the space we currently have because Kyle has two older brothers. So the best solution is to add a bedroom and bathroom to the other end of our house for Kyle. Not a cheap option but it is the best option. We also need some hardwood flooring throughout the main areas of the house and Kyle's new bedroom for his power wheelchair. Carpet is hard on the gears of a power wheelchair. In his new bedroom we will have a ceiling hoist to pick Kyle up and transfer him to his wheelchair or directly to his new handicap accessible bathroom.
Having these things would greatly change his and our lives for the better. We have been wanting to make these changes for sometime but we cannot financially afford to do so. It was a very hard decision to ask for help but we just can't do this on our own. As Kyle has become heavier to lift by hand we realized we have to get this done soon. Currently we have raised $4,500 and the estimated cost for new construction, ceiling hoist and alterations to the house is $80,000. Thank you and God bless you to all who decide to help and donate to Kyle. Helping us do this would be a great blessing to our family. We are so thankful for any amount you can afford to donate and for help spreading the word about this fundraiser.
